Mother and I are doing well, but we're both concerned for your well-being, of course. Are they treating you well? And do you know when you'll be released yourself? It seems odd and rather cruel that they would let Jacqueline go, and yet leave you behind.

I'm relieved you are well, Barty!

I'm missing a finger but We have received our journals. I suppose that improves my prior condition.

As I had told Lucinda, I'm relieved that Jacqueline has been released. Even if I were given the option to leave, I would have switched with Jacq regardless. Don't worry too much Barty, as you so often do.

I don't believe it was dark magic. The pain has stopped but it is rather horrid upsetting to look at. In fact, talking about it makes me even more upset so I wish to not speak about it.
